Theatre Commander Decorates Col AD Isa With The Rank Of Brigadier General, Urges Him To Remain Loyal To Federal Republic Of Nigeria

The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Christopher Musa has charged newly promoted senior officers in the theatre of OPHK to remain loyal to the President, Commander-in-Chief and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria while discharging the duties in their new status as Generals in the Nigerian Army.

General Christopher gave the charge on Tuesday, 28 December 2021 while decorating 22 senior officers of OPHK with their new badges of rank at Maimalari Cantonment Officers' Mess, Maiduguri the B8 new generals and expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff and the Service Chiefs for their magnanimity and consideration to promote this very seasoned, dedicated and capable senior officers across the theatre as members of the Armed Forces. He added that this special recognition will no doubt spur the senior officers to put in more efforts and restrategize towards actualising the mandate of the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR on the fight against insurgency in the NE and other criminalities within the country.

Among those decorated are 20 Colonels elevated to the rank of Brigadier General. This is a well deserved promotion looking at journey the Officers pass through to achieve this great fate. Notable among those promoted to the rank of Brigadier General is COL AD ISA (N/9855).

Brigadier General Ado Isa Disa was born in Potiskum on 10 January 1968 to the family of late Baba Isa Potiskum in Potiskum LGA of Yobe State.  He attended the following Schools: Army Children School Enugu, Tudun Wada Primary School Potiskum, Government Science Secondary School Potiskum, Borno College of Basic Studies Maiduguri, University of Maiduguri, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and did his National Youth Service Corps in Minna, Niger State.

Brigadier General Isa was Commissioned as a Direct Regular Officer on 25 September 1993 as Lieutenant and deployed to the Directorate of Army Public Relations.  He holds the following Certificates: Secondary School “O” Level Certificate, Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and Anthropology, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, Certificate in Radio Production/Presentation and Certificate in UN Courses & others.

The Senior Officer attended the following Courses:

a.            Young Officers’ Course Infantry – at Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji.

b.            Range Management (Basic) Course – at Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji.

c.            Company Amphibious Operations Course – at Amphibious Training School, Calabar.

d.            Police Admin and Security Management Course – at Nigerian Army School of Military Police, Basawa, Zaria.

Other Certificate Courses While Serving with the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone includes:

a.            Global Terrorism.

b.            Peacekeeping and International Conflict Resolution.

c.            Security Measures for UN Peacekeepers.

d.            Introduction to UN System.

e.            International Humanitarian Law and the Law of Armed Conflict and

f.            Advance Explosives Remnants of War Recognition Course at the United Nations Hybrid Mission in Darfur, Sudan.

He also attended several Workshops, Seminars and Symposia on Public Relations, Civil Military Affairs, Security.

Brigadier General Isa Served in the Following Units and Held Several Appointments:

a.            Army Public Relations Officer (APRO) at the Directorate of Army Reserve, Recruitment and Resettlement.

b.            Admin Officer (AO) – at HQ  3 Div APR.

c.            APRO – HQ Infantry Corps Centre and School.

d.            MPIO – NIBATT 17 United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone.

e.            APRO – at DEPOT NA/NMS

f.            APRO –  at HQ 22 Armoured Brigade.

g.            Recruitment Officer Kwara State

h.            Liaison Officer – NAOWA National HQ

i.             SO1 G3 at HQ DAPR

j.             Military Liaison Officer/Staff Officer – United Nations Hybrid Mission in Darfur Sudan.

k.            Deputy Director Army Public Relations  – at HQ Infantry Corps Centre.

i.             Deputy Director Army Public Relations  – 81 Div NA

j.             Co-coordinator – Joint  Media Campaign Centre HQ Op PULO SHIELD.

During the course of his Career,  Brigadier General Isa travelled widely both within and outside the country, he bagged several honours and awards which include:

a.            Forces Service Star

b.            Meritorious Service Star

c.            Distinguish Service Star

d.            General Operations Medal

e.            BSc (Hons) Sociology and Anthropology

f.            PGD Public Relations

g.            Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice

h.            Member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR).

His hobbies include, Reading, Adventure and Sports, he is happily married and blessed with children.

He also served as the spokesman of the defunct Operation PULO SHIELD in the Niger Delta and he is the current spokesman in the North East Operation HADIN KAI.

While giving words of wisdoms to the newly decorated senior officers, the Force Commamder Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim disclosed that the rank of "GENERAL" is a call to duty and responsibilities which demands more dexterity, determination, critical and logical thinking on issues of strategic and policy importance to the Army, the Armed Forces and the nation at large. He therefore uses the medium to congratulate them for a well deserved promotion he also urged him to live up to expectations.
