Honorable Abubakar Baba Zango (Abaza) who is flying the All Progressives Congress,APC, House of Representatives (HoR) ticket for Girei, Yola North, and Yola South Federal constituency was described as the best among the leading aspirants jostling to win the 2023 National Assembly elections.

A Youth group, Jimeta Alliance for true Democracy according to its founder, Ishaya Adamu said they have been working with the mission and mandate of the group to support, and fish out good leaders who can give selfless service to the people of Adamawa state.

He said their research as a group and their close watch of all the people aspiring to be the next HoR member for the State communities, Honorable Abaza has topped them all in terms of general acceptability, love for humanity and wisdom with the capacity to replace them well.

Ishaya said Baba Zango's tract records and his ability in maintaining close relationships with his constituents made him are most sought for politician.

Mr. Adamu told our correspondent after holding a strategic meeting of the association in Yola said it's becoming more important to begin to campaign for Baba Zango who they discovered in recent times has donated essentials and nonessential food to victims of floods disaster in Girei local government areas.

He revealed that Abaza has been a grassroots politician with a record of meeting the needs of his people, especially those in dire need at any given time contacted.

"We are much aware how he donated cars, facilitated job opportunities to many youths in these three local governments, he has done a lot of community services of providing water, fertilizers, improved seeds, chemicals, and water pump machines for mechanized dry season farming.

" We will begin a massive campaign, creating awareness and presenting to our people the need to vote for this Baba Zango, he is just too good and most qualified to handle the representative job.

"The experience he garnered as a former council lawmaker, a cabinet member during Governor Boni Haruna led administration, and a senior adviser of Governor Murtala Nyako has made him unique and distinguished him to the noble job.

" I want the people of Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal constituency to understand that the Man in Abaza is a servant -A leader whose humility and respect for humanity will always make him serve them better," Ishaya said

The meeting brought together local government officials from the Southern Senatorial District and discussed a way forward for the state, and the zone and concluded plans to only support candidates who are humanity driven and posed in giving selfless services to mankind irrespective of religion, tribe or political party.

2023: He is better than anyone else-Adamawa Youth endorse Hon Lawal for HoR

....says is a golden fish whose political good wills are missed since 2019

Competency, legibility, and objective representation with people-oriented laws, bills, contributions, and motions are what was missed in the last three years and a half in the absence of Honourable Lawal Garba who represented the Federal Constituency of Yola North, Yola South, and Girei areas of Adamawa State in the national assembly as House of Representatives (HoR) Lawmaker in 2015 to 2019.

The good quality representation that is now a mirage and not seen in the current representation, Youth who are leaders of various Christian communities and churches met our Yola correspondent and reiterated the need to bring back to full representation of Honourable Abubakar Lawal Garba in 2023.

The Youth group numbering about fifteen through their spokesman, Mr. Ezekiel Haziel said the choice of Garba became expedient to everyone passionate about good leadership in 2023.

He said the representation he gave from 2015 to 2019 has no second to it since he left the office while he was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

According to him, they are aware of Lawan's detection of the New Nigerian People's Party (NNPP) because of many injustices meted out to him by the APC party. He held that this is the time that they will support him to prove to the Nigerians that party politics is the main problem of the nation's democracy.

"The NNPP is not the problem, nobody will deceive us with the gimmicks of the party's politics. This Man is up and doing, he is well grounded and groomed with legislative experience pushing him to represent us is the better Wisdom of not only our constituency but the whole of Adamawa State.

" We are now the foot soldiers that we want to stick in our necks for him. I want to tell you that we have missed this gem of true leadership, he is the political golden fish that was missed and now is found. 

"We can not afford to allow him to slip off and go away and our constituency will be in derision of poor representation by inept political jobbers in the name of party, religion, or ethnic identities.

"You would not know the value of what you have until you lose that thing. Garba forgive us, for not supporting you in 2019, your project now is our project, we are in for victory and by the grace of God the victory is ours." Hazel said.

The Youth are influencers of many Christians Youths across many churches in Jimeta, Yola, and Girei, one of them at the meeting, Pius Bitrus said they will create a voters enlightenment forum using different social media platforms on Honourable Garba.

Mr. Bitrus reiterated that many people are not too familiar with the NNPP Logo and they will set up an agenda of educating them by creating massive social media and church awareness.

"For us, all that we are after is quality representation. This Man was there, and during his tenure, he did well. Until now that is not there we realized we have lost a rare gem of a political brain. 

" Let me assure you that, we decided to do this because we are convinced by what you have just reiterated that legislative duties need a man with the requisite experience. He has seen it all during his last tenure, he gave much and better representation, people-oriented programs, and was philanthropic in doing what will benefit humanity than what we are seeing now." Don't cause confusion in NDDC, group warns N'Delta Minister over appointment acting MD

The South-South Emerging Leaders Forum (SELF) has cautioned the Minister of Niger Delta, Mr, Umana  Umana, not to cause unnecessary confusion in the appointment of new Sole Administrator for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

President Muhammadu Buhari, had relieved the Interim Administrator of NDDC, Mr. Effiong Akwa, of his position and directed the most senior director in the commission over the running of its affairs.

The minister subsequently announced Mr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, to perform the duties of the managing director in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director and members of the Governing Board.

But in a statement signed Thursday in Abuja by its coordinator, Barr. Preye Johnson, the group said the director appointed by the Minister to succeed the sacked administrator "is not the most senior director as directed by the President. In fact, there are two most senior directors ahead of him."

The forum named the said most qualified senior directors to include Seigha Glasgow and Prince Alazigha.

The South-south forum, however threatened to drag the minister to Court if the right thing is not done based on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to forum, if the injustice melted against the most senior directors are not corrected there will be no proper growth in the the Commission and the most senior directors will be disrespected.

The statement also urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) not to recognise and allow for the change of signature Mr. by Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua.

The statement said: "As a frontline forum of professionals in the Niger Delta, we are using this medium to call on the Minister of Niger Delta  Affairs, Mr. Umana  Okon Umana, to do the right thing and avoid unnecessary confusion at the NDDC by appoint the most senior director as directed by Mr. President.

"We are making this call because the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua is in contrary to the directive of the President and it is in the public knowledge that there are two most senior directors ahead of Mr. Mr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua.

"We hereby call on the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) not to recognise or allow for the change of signature by Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua as the acting Managing Diractor of NDDC because he is not the most senior Director in the Commission as stated in the letter signed by the Ministry of Niger Delta and dated 20th October 2022.

"Apart from the CBN, we call on the National Assembly not to have anything to do with the leadership of Mr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua as NDDC's acting helmsman.

"We also warn that if the right thing is not done we shall have no option than to approach the Court of Law to correct the injustice," the statement said.

Alleged KWIRS Contract: Publication baseless, politically motivated – Prof. Awodun

To put the record straight, the pioneer and Immediate past Executive Chairman of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), Prof. Muritala Awodun has debunked the allegation making round on how he used his company to secure contract of the service.

Recalled that an online publication alleged that the former KWIRS Chief, Muritala Awodun, Reportedly Indicted For Abuse Of Office using his company- CSDC .

In a Communique made available to our Correspondent yesterday Prof. Awodun said "My atention has been drawn to a faceless publication with the caption “How Prof. Awodun used personal company to secure KWIRS contract under him: investigation” by Salient Times and other politically sponsored online media. 

"First my reaction to such a baseless and clueless claim would have been to ignore it, but for the fact that this is a political era, and we need to put out there, facts and truth and do not allow the perpetrators of falsehood to have their way. The need to also ensure that allowing falsehood thrive is a disservice to humanity and our state. 

" The claim of this faceless publication is false as Awodun is not the owner or co-owner of the company in question. The records of companies and their ownership in Nigeria are publicly available on the website of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and Awodun has never been, in any way owner, shareholder or director to the company.

"For the avoidance of doubts, having left KWIRS, almost four years now, and having been dragged to the EFCC by the present government, there could be no better way to investigate this than that, unless the government is doubting the investigative capacities of the EFCC" 

The Communique emphasized that Awodun having completed his tenure successfully on September 30, 2019 became free from public service and free to be engaged by any firm, so getting engaged by CSDC Systems Solutions Limited after his tenure as a Chief Operating Officer (Chief Revenue Consultant) is an exercise of his freedom, and in recognition of his expertise and capacities. 

"It is on record that Awodun was not only open and transparent in his running of the Service during his tenure, but devoted the four years to building an enduring institution for Kwara State.

" It's also noted that Prof. Awodun was an advocate of capacity and institution building, as he not only demonstrated that by building KWIRS from the scratch, but ensured it is established on best global practices that earned the organization international certification on its processes. 

"This is irrespective of the persistent growth in revenue during the four-year period (moving the revenue of the state from N7.2billion in 2015 to N30.1billion in 2019). 

"What Awodun achieved with KWIRS during his period there, is an experience that no one can take away from him, and his experience and expertise would always be sought after by states and organizations that requires it. It is simply a matter of when you do it well, you will do well, irrespective of what your detractors may say. For four years, what Awodun did is out there in the public domain for all to see"

Cleen foundation organised workshop on human right documentation and management

Cleen foundation have organised a two- days capacity building sensitization programs on human right documentation and management for the police oversight and agencies in the north west zone region, held in Kaduna.

While speaking media men  during the work shop,the director programme Cleen foundation Mr Salahuddeen Hashim, said that"the purpose of this gathering is to improve and promote police integrity by developing on under standing of police misconduct, and determined the nature and extent of police misconduct in Nigeria".

"To explore whether these displinary measures bring changes to police misconduct, and determine the number of police officers who have been disciplined are profile within the time".

He however noted that" the police misconduct are those offences and crimes committed by police officers using the constitutional powers of arrest.despite that various structures had been setup to handle the police misconduct.for both internal and external".

The internal structure include; the complaints response unit (URU),public complaints bureau (PCB),provost department), (PD),force criminal investigation department (FCID)and IGP monitoring unit.while the external structure include; the human right commission (HRC),police service commission (PSC) and public complaints commission(PCC)".

Mr Sahuddeen also narrated the variuos types of police misconduct finding which include; corrupt practice related offences, violation related offences, drug/drunkness related offences, sex related offences and breach of confidence related offences.

One of the participants for the workshop Abubakar Jibril, a lecturer department of sociology Usmanu Danfodiyo university Sokoto, described the workshop as timely considered its importance on human right cases amongst the law enforcement agencies in north west zone region.

" I called on the participants to listen attemptebly and understand it's impacts and also make sure they have implemente it to the wider society ".

The Senior legal officer human right commission Bauchi, Yusuf Musa emphasized the the importance of human right commission the way they have close to the ordinary citizens, for being free for every ordinary man to summit their allegations without any hindrances.

Lawyer gives two conditions to OGSOSA 2000 set Member on Character defamation

A popular Lawyer and Developmental Activist,  Barr. Temi Nuruddin Salami (SABO) and Others has given two conditions to a member of Offa Grammar School Old Students Association (OGSOSA), Luqman AbdulQadir(Alhaji) over defamation of character against him Among others.

Recalled that AbdulQadir had defamed Barr. Sabo and others on the group Whatsapp platform of OGSOSA 2000 set recently.

This is contained in a statement signed by Barr. Temi Salami Nuruddin (Sabo) and made available to Newsmen on Monday.

The statement captured a reconciliatory meeting initiated by OGSOSA Executives led by the President, Mrs. Funmilayo kachiro which commenced around 8:20am and ended 12.45pm was focused on resolving the defamatory issue but AbdulQadir couldn't substantial his utterance with fact.

"We want to state specifically that LUQMAN ABDULQADIR(Alhaji) couldn't establish anything against Barr. Temi Salami Nuruddin (Sabo) when he was asked to justify his claims. since he said on Ogsosa2000 set WhatsApp platform that he has plethora of evidence to back his claims. He also denied that he never libel SABO as "untrustworthy". 

His actions was condemned by Ogsosa president and every other participant at the meeting.LUQMAN ABDULQADIR (Alhaji)also couldn't justify his wide allegations against ABDULSALAM LUKMAN(Atinga).

The lawyer has given AbdulQadir two conditions to avoid a suit for criminal defamation of character after Mrs. Funmilayo Kachiro president (Ogsosa 2000 set) begged on his behalf.

"  Barr. T.N.S (SABO) requested AbdulQadir to write a letter of retraction addressed to him or seek redress in court for criminal defamation of character.

 On his part, Mr. ABDULSALAM LUQMAN has requested AbdulQadir to send another voicenote on OGSOSSA 2000 set platform to retract his defamatory statement against him.

The statement added "we have confidence that LUQMAN ABDULQADIR will meet those conditions in 3 days to avoid legal action against him".

Group Explains Reasons Sylva is Nigeria's Best Petroleum Minister

The  Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva has been rated as the best performing Minister of Petroleum for ensuring landmark transformation and sustained Growth of National Nigerian Petroleum Company(NNPC)  Ltd .

The northern based Nigerian Energy Accountability Forum (NEAF),which gave reasons for picking Sylva said it is important to identify and acknowledge leaders, who have performed and delivered on mandate of public office.

According to the group, for example ,the recent signings for laying of Gas Pipelines from   Nigeria-Morocco and Algeria  are project   initiatives that requires commendation .

"The Project is aimed at monetization of Nigeria's abundant natural gas resources will help generate additional revenue for the Country; diversification of  gas export routes, and eliminating gas flaring." It added .

In a press Statement issued and signed by the Coordinator, Engineer Ibrahim Mohammed Biu ,the group which revealed this said President Muhammadu Buhari's choice of Chief Timipre Sylva as Petroleum Minister was the best decision made by his administration .

While commending the Minister for the efforts made to ensure local sufficiency in refined petroleum products with the first phase of the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery at advanced stage of completion , it said  failure to recognize performance and capacity of individuals who have done well is largely responsible for bad leadership .

"We all know that the ongoing rehabilitation of  Port Harcourt refinery, if  completed next year will boost internal supply, create more jobs and enhance economic development ".It stressed .

It however said the decision of the Minister to increase crude oil production to 3million barrels per day (mbd/d) with  commencement of operation of the TotalEnergies’ Ikike Oil Field, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is a right step for development .

The group in the  Statement  also noted that: "The signing of PIB into on the 16th of August 2021 introduced important changes to the governance, administrative, regulatory and fiscal framework of the Nigerian Petroleum Industry.

" The bill (Section 54) proposed that the Minister of State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva and the Minister of Finance should incorporate the NNPC Limited and determine the assets and liabilities that will be assumed by the new entity and this was swiftly done .

"Another milestone is achieved by his leadership is the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano Natural Gas Pipeline is a pipeline planned to transport natural gas from Ajaokuta, in Kogi State to Kano, in Kano State, through several states and urban centers, as part of the Trans Nigeria Gas Pipeline. Construction of the AKKP commenced in July 2020

"The  614km-long natural gas pipeline,will result in the establishment of a connecting pipeline network between the eastern, western and northern regions of Nigeria. 

"It also aims to create a steady and guaranteed gas supply network between the northern and southern parts of Nigeria by utilising the country’s widely available gas resources."

Rivers: Wike's claim of exclusion by Atiku lacks truthfulness - PDP group

A pro-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) known as PDP Young Stakeholders, Lagos branch has attacked Rivers state governor Nysome Wike over his comments that the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar did not consult him before appointing members from Rivers State into his campaign council.

The group said governor Wike's claim lack the merit of truthfulness.

In a statement released Monday evening in Abuja, in reaction to Wike's claim of exclusion from PDP PCC, signed by Dr Tai Oyekan, Governor Wike can be likened to a prodigal son who took his inheritance in annoyance. 

Oyekan said: "To put the records straight, and which can be corroborated by every stakeholder in the party, that the PDP and its presidential candidate consulted all governors and leaders in each state before nominating members into the presidential campaign council.

"Whereas all state governors made nominations into the council, it was only in Rivers State that the governor refused to forward his nominations into the council. It was therefore upon the refusal of the governor that the PDP and its presidential candidate went ahead by their own discretion to make nominations into the council.

"It is public knowledge that Governor Wike has gone amok with the party since is failure to emerge as presidential candidate of the party and has stated, publicly also, that he will not cooperate with the party in our presidential campaign.

"Governor Wike can be likened to a prodigal son who took his inheritance in annoyance. But we are hopeful that the party, as father to all, will have rectitude to receive to accept Governor Wike bad as a prodigal son whenever he return in penitence.

"But before then, we wish to admonish Governor Wike that for the purpose of posterity, he should desist from telling lies against the PDP and leaders of the party. Nigeria operates a democratic politics and that means that Governor Wike has the rights of participation or otherwise. Be that as it may, however, he alone does not approximate River State. 

"There are respected leaders who have made their marks in life and politics and are indigenes of Rivers State. We consider it inglorious on the part of the governor that he would describe such people as ‘enemies of Rivers State’ only because they refuse to be a party of his solo-travel to political obscurity.

"We also want to urge members of the PDP in Rivers and everywhere else, that the party is cohesive and there are many groups, like ours, who are ready to work assiduously for the success of the party in all levels of the election next year."

Competence, experience, and abilities are some of the key requisite knowledge a Lawmaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should garner to represent well in the national assembly.

An erstwhile Lawmaker who has represented the People of Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Honourable Lawal Garba made a passionate call to his constituents to consider a candidate with the needed experience to represent them in 2023.

Lawal who is a Lawyer by profession from 2015 to 2019 was considered to give an excellent representation to the people of Adamawa under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged them not to collect money in exchange for better representation as the result has a far-reaching devastating effect.

Lawal is currently the Flag bearer of the New Nigeria people's party (NNPP) hoping to go back to the National Assembly as the ranking member said continuity in legislative duties is the key in stabilizing Democracy and bringing development, growth to constituents.

He enjoined them not to allow themselves to be fooled by money bags politicians who will but up their destinies,  but they should interrogate and do a background check on them to ascertain their credibility to represent them.

While given a scorecard of his last four years of stewardship, Garba said he has a verifiable record of the people he facilitated jobs in FIRS, CBN, Customs, immigration, Printing and minting, police, Military, and many ministries, board, and parastatals of the federal government.

He however said his bills, laws, and resolutions in the national assembly stand out as one of the joy and peace he have whenever he remembers. 

According to him one of the bills he revived on the establishment of police trust funds that was laying fallow for years and as a Chairman House committee on police affairs he made sure that the bill was passed to law and accented by Mr. President.

"I feel happy today that the bill will enable them to save money for intervention, for security purposes that will make them buy a lot of their equipment, to rehabilitate their barracks and built more is something that is making me happy because I did that in good fate.

" In my constituency, I was able to build about six health clinics and three computer centers that one of which will soon be commissioned at Army Barracks in Yola despite being out of the house, my ability and competence are giving me the credibility to still work for my people.

"Sir, I have done projects that touched the lives of many people, and I lobbied for employment for them. This gives me peace, at least I have done that to the best of my ability and if given the chance I can do more than that." Garba said

Barrister Garba who granted an interview to our correspondent in his Abuja residence emphasized that the foundation of lawmaking is on three things, which are the ability to sponsor bills, to sponsor motions (the process of lawmaking), representation, and do a lot of oversight functions-Check mating the executives.

And all these according to him connote a lawmaker having one on one with his constituents, sitting down with them to hear, know and listen to their needs, and convey them to the National Assembly for debate.

He stressed that the entire work of legislation is huge and needs someone with vast experience to go there and defend his people.

He called on the People of Girei, Yola North, and Yola South to see him as the best for the job because as a one time their representative, and a Lawyer by profession who bagged a Master's degree in law with his Ph.D. in view that will soon be ready, he assures them of an excellent job if they give him their mandate again in 2023.

"With my experience and my background I stand the best, I left it for our Constituents to put the imaginary scale to get the best among us , which I hope I should be favored over all the contestants." He said

He revealed that the 2023 general elections will be based and centered on who is in which party, it's not about the party it's about the candidate.

He called on his constituents to consider NNPP and vote for him because he has a record and a deal of good representation in the past with them.

He said his record in the past is what will make him win the election not because is in NNPP but because the people know that he represented well.

Academics Ask FG to Scrap NNPC, Query N788bn Spent on Salaries, Entertainment

... Says Company has become liability 

Apparently worried about the annual expenditure of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited,  group of lecturers under aegis of Academics for Accountable Governance Group (AAGG) declared as unacceptable   the situation where whooping amount of N788bn was spent on Salaries; Forex, Entertainment, Other expenses .

It also challenged NNPC Ltd to explain to Nigerians  how it made a net profit of N674bn and spent N788.7 billion on salary, entertainment and other costs.

 

According to the academics, there is no place  in the world, where a major oil and gas producing company would have its expenditure  greater than income. 

"It against this disturbing background that as a group of concerned  Nigerians , we decided to join Kaduna State Governor ,Mal.Nasir El-Rufai ;the former Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi  and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to ask the federal government to immediately  scrap NNPC and sell it to individuals ,who can manage it effectively .

The group which disclosed this in a press statement jointly signed by the Coordinator; Professor Fahad Muhammad, Secretary, Dr. Ogundipe Ogunbiyi and Publicity Secretary,Professor Chuka Nwaneri, said it is economically illogical to continue to  declare a 'mirage' of profit when expenditures get higher than incomes .

In the statement, the group which queried why the salary of staff kept rising without any productive activities in the refineries said, " The   situation where  salary spent shows that N236bn spent in 2021 is higher than the N212bn  spent in 2020 ;and where Pension took N150bn, a decrease from the N182bn spent the previous year is beyond human comprehension .

"Most unfortunate is the huge emolument cost at a time when the company has been commercialized with experts expecting a downsize in staff.

"We read some media reports that  N81bn was spent on exchange loss, the cost of converting its oil earnings to local currency which rose by 100 per cent from the N42bn spent in 2020."

"We consider  it worrisome that NNPC  wrote off N71bn for asset depreciation, allegedly  spent N11bn on entertainment,  blew N46bn on legal and professional fees, spent N390m on its directors with the officials spending N10bn on travels and most disturbing,  is the N20bn it spent on fines and penalty.

"Overall, the company said it recorded over N6.4trillion income which was higher than the N3.7trn it made earlier. While it spent  N5.3trn In 2021 as cost of sales of petroleum products, nnpc spent N3.6trn in 2020. 

"From all Indications, It's obvious that the national oil company is longer viable and should sold and proceeds used to diversify the economy."

Linus Okorie: Call Umahi to order, sack Ebonyi CP now, Ebonyi group tells Buhari, IGP

The Association of Ebonyi Indigenes Socio-Cultural In Diaspora (AEISCID) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently call to order the governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi, over the arrest of a two-term former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Linus Okorie, in the state.

The group also called on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to sack the Ebonyi state commissioner of Police, Aliyu Garba, for bringing the force into disrepute.

Okorie was reportedly abducted last weekend and severely tortured and then later handed over to the authorities of the Nigerian Police Force, Ebonyi State Command.

Reacting to the development through a statement released Thursday in Abuja, by the AEISCID President, Ambassador Pascal Oluchchukwu, condemned "the gestapo style in which Hon. Okorie was violently abducted, severely tortured and then later handed over to the  police.

The group said it was privy to mainstream and social media reports on the incident including the tensions generated by protests from youths and women groups in Onicha-Igboeze and Ugwulangwu communities and of course, the Ebonyi Police Command's press statement which listed among other allegations; illicit drug deals, character assassination, armed robbery, murder among others against the person of Okorie.

"Knowing the character persona of Governor Umahi and his despicable desperation to be in Nigeria's 10th Senate even if it entails truncating democracy and governance in Ebonyi state, this group as a foremost governance and accountability platform in Ebonyi is worried that like we have always alarmed, Umahi and his APC warriors want to plunge our beloved State into an emergency rule through the use of Ebubeagu Security Network- an illegally armed body which had been ordered never to participate in any activities of the 2023 general elections.

"They have not only lost their popularity among the Ebonyi electorates a long time ago, they are now very determined to crush and grind anyone they perceive as a threat to their dangerous ambitions. Knowing that the APC Candidates in Ebonyi are widely unacceptable having been imposed by Umahi against the old APC members, the Governor and his evil schemers seem very desperate to foist them on Ebonyians through the instrumentality of the guns and large-scale violence using the ignoble Ebubeagu militia.

"Otherwise, how can the world explain the downright dehumanization of Okorie simply because he habours an ambition to vie for the Ebonyi South Senatorial seat in 2023 under the platform of the Labour Party against a very desperate Umahi? Why is Gov. Umahi afraid of facing the electorates in his Ebonyi South Senatorial zone especially when he claims to have done marvelously well for the people as an incumbent Governor?

 

"AEISCID as a group is even more troubled that State institutions such as the Nigeria Police Force, the Ebonyi Judiciary and others are enobbling these ugly and undemocratic conducts of Umahi. Saner minds had expected that the Nigerian Police, Ebonyi State Command should have been more professional rather than act a dangerous script handed over it by the agents of Ebonyi State government."

While demanding immediate release of Hon. Okorie, the state said: "Assuming without conceding that Hon. Okorie was indeed arrested by Ebubeagu as claimed by the Police who by it's Press release on the dastardly incident sheepishly acted like the official Spokesmen of the armed Ebubeagu militia group, why did it take them almost 24 hours to hand their victim over to the authorities of the Nigerian Police Force?

"The Ebonyi Police Command had curiously labelled many spurious allegations such as but not limited to; illicit drug deals, publication of false information, among others against Okorie in it's Press release. Why then were those allegations dropped in the charge sheet they used to charge Okorie to Court?

"But for acting an anti-democratic script handed it by Umahi, how could the Police have charged Okorie before a Magistrate Court which has no proper jurisdiction so he could have been granted bail to face Umahi's trumped up charges? These all points to the compromises of the Ebonyi Police Command under the CP, Aliyu Garba, the lackeys appointed as Magistrates and Judges in Ebonyi State Judiciary and indeed, the desperate foot-soldiers in Umahi's government."

The Ebonyi group, however, demanded "immediate sack of the Ebonyi State's Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Garba by the Inspector General of Police for becoming a worrisome stooge in the hands of an insipidly desperate Governor Umahi. This body further demands the unconditional release of Hon. Okorie who has been immensely traumatized by this very sad incident.

"And for Umahi, AEISCID urges President Buhari to call him and his APC goons to order before they totally derail our maturing democracy with their desperate and dangerous ambitions!"

Group Blasts El-Rufai, Sanusi over 'Careless Outbursts' on Scrapping of NNPC

...Says criticism out of tune with present day realities  

Kaduna based Political group, Buhari Votes Guard and Awareness (BVGA) has replied the the 14th Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai on what it described as 'careless outbursts' over scrapping of the NNPC following alleged  abysmal performance over the years.

It also said the recent media statements credited to the former Emir and Governor of Kaduna State are clear evidence that they have lost touch with realities of economic development and growth.

Address journalists today at his Abuja office on President Muhammadu records of performance, the National Coordinator of the Group ,Dr. Kailani Muhammad said, "We are shocked that even  when the President Muhammadu Buhari led  government has provided the needed impetus for NNPC to become effective through the enactment of Petroleum Industry Act PIA, a sitting Governor has decided to criticize the measure and calling for the scrap of NNPC.

According to him, it is obvious that  El-Rufai's  frustration over the achievements of NNPC is glaring , following its transformation to a limited liability company , because it's no longer business as usual where governors would run to the Federal Government just to receive monthly grant without coming up with any initiative that would add value to their states .

Dr. Kailani who expressed disatisfaction with with the Governor's ill-timed position , stressed,"We can authoritatively conclude that  El-Rufai has lost tune with present day.Adding , "the governor  would have concentrated on state development rather than focussing on NNPC just with the aim of seeing it's pitfalls. 

"Someone who has failed to recognize that the global economic meltdown has grossly impacted on NNPC  and coupled with oil theft in the Niger Delta region which the Mele Kyari administration is fighting to halt and other factors have adverse effect on the performance of the organization."

While accepting that there are challenges facing the oil and gas sectors across the world , he said,  "Despite this ,the management under a prudent and efficient Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kolo Kyari has performed  creditably well to spearhead the organization to greater success. 

Speaking on the former Emir Sanusi's comments  , the group said,"The records put forward by Malam Sanusi about the daily consumption of fuel as released by the NNPC shows how he was unscientific in his approach. 

Noting,"He has forgotten the daily increase of fuel consumption by the over 10million vehicles, the over one million people in a number of house holds in Ondo State that were cut off from electricity supply, the users of grinding machines, the tricycle users, standby generators users and a number of other various sources that relied on fuel for their daily activities.

"When Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was appointed Emir of Kano by the then Governor of Kano State, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, very few people rejoiced.

"But when he was dethroned by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, many people were happy that he was ousted. The reason was not far fetched. Sanusi who was to serve as the symbol of the historic traditional institution, was grossly unable to understand and keep to the ettiquetes of the traditional institution. He deeply felt that he was very intelligent, better than everyone and hence began to challenge the authority of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. 

"Sanusi always feel he is one of the most intelligent people in the country and of course smartest of all. But people are so apathetic to his rise and fall and that's why I wasn't surprise when he was quoted as saying that, he felt sorry for the next President of Nigeria based on what he termed as poor economy, insecurity and other challenges bedeviling the country."

"For us ,NNPC under Buhari led administration has be transformed and should be appreciated by persons within and outside corridors of power."

Anambra APC disowns Ngige, vows to mobilise for Tinubu ...Says Madukaife no longer party membe

The Anambra state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has disowned the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, for not publicly endorsing the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, ahead of the 2023 general election.

The state chapter also declared that one Okelo Madukaife who was a former APC state publicity secretary has since 2020 ceased to be its spokesman.

The APC state chairmqn was reacting to comments made on a national Television programme (Politics today) recently by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, where he failed to publicly affirm his choice of presidential candidate between Tinubu and Peter Obi of Labour party (LP), when he was asked to do so by the presenter.

According to Ngige, such question is difficult to answer because both Tinubu and Peter Obi are his friends.

In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, personally signed by the Anambra state chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, dissociated the APC under his leadership in the state from Ngige’s comment on the said Television's interview.

Chief Ejidike said Anambra APC has started grassroot mobilisation for the victory of its presidential candidate and all other candidates contesting on the platform.

According to him, Anambra APC will work hard to give Tinubu a surprising results at the poll against all odds.

He said that whatever Ngige said was a personal opinion and he never said he represented the party during the interview.

The party chairman said: “Ngige never said he represented the party during the interview and whatever he said was personal and does not reflect the position of the party in Anambra state” he said. 

Ejidike called on the general public to disregard misconceptions Senator Ngige's response in the said TV interview might have caused, adding that Anambra will honour Tinubu and the party with massive votes in the forthcoming general elections.

While expressing worry over the activities of one Okelo Madukaife who was the former state publicity secretary of the party, the state chairman declared that "Okelo had been sacked by the party in 2021 and replaced with Valentine Oliobi as the substantive publicity secretary of the party in the state.

"He has been parading himself as the party’s spokesman when he is not a member.

“If the former national chairman of the party Adams Oshomole could step aside. I don’t know why Okelo Madukaife is still parading himself as the publicity secretary of the state APC.

“He was suspended in July 2021 for anti-party activities. As a chairman of the party, I am not aware that Okelo has been re-admitted to the party. He is not a member of Anambra State APC,” he said.

According to him, in January this year, Anambra State APC conducted an election and because he was sacked he could not purchase a form to participate in the process.

He said that during the election, valentine Iyke Oliobi was elected as the substantive publicity secretary of the state APC.

Group Backs El-Rufai, Sanusi on Sale , Unbundling NNPC

Nigerian Forum for Good Governance(NFGG) has thrown its weight behind the positions of the 14th Emir of Kano ,Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai on  scrapping of the NNPC following its abysmal performance over the years.

According to the group, the National oil company has become more of burden than an asset for  economic growth and development.

In a statement jointly signed by the Coordinator and Secretary of the Nigerian Forum for Good Governance; Comrade Mukhtar Ahmed Funtua, Coordinator  and Comrade Reuben Joseph Kajang the group said, selling of NNPC is the  best option to cut off government's dependence on oil and develop other sectors of the economy.

The group also in the statement titled: "NNPC is A Burden that Must Be Scrapped  and Sold Entirely", said held that as concerned Nigerians with focus on good governance across all tiers of government and sectors of the economy, it totally agreed with  Sanusi on the position that the national oil has become a '"money pit rather than a cash cow",  considering the fact that the four refineries that were more or less comatose  couldn't meet up the purpose for which they were established .

"We equally concur with Governor  of Kaduna State, Mal Nasir El-Rufai on his submission that Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has become a burden and  big problem to Nigeria." It added .

On its  resolve to mobilise Civil Society Organizations across Nigeria to join the conversation to  "Kill NNPC" because, it is no longer a  profit making business for government and had outstayed relevance as a public company, it said ,"We are fully prepared  to support all Nigerians who have raised their voices in either to unbundle, sell or privatized." 

The statement further reads: "We are saddened that besides massive stealing of our crude oil, NNPC has not been able make profit . It is laughable  that as one of major producers of crude in the world ,we have continued to import refined fuel while export crude oil. It also shameful that for over 40 years , it was unable to declare a Profit After Tax , until recently when it announced concocted a sum of 674 billion for the 2021 financial year.

"We make bold to say that NNPC under the   President Muhammad  Buhari led administration is a leaking basket for its inability to fix any of the four refineries that is apparently  the only unproductive  organisation ,yet  maintained full complimentary workforce on its payroll.

"This for us, is adjudged foolhardy and  detrimental to the economy . Worst still , It is one of the very few public companies discovered that has  refused to be accountable  to even the government that set it up. 

"We reiterate our stand that not only the NNPC that needs to be sold out, all the refineries  should be sold out to individuals for efficiency and  stop the  spending billions of naira on paying salaries of redundant staff and maintaining non-functional refineries 

"It is overt  fraud to complacently settle for importation of  refined petroleum product and paying heavy subsidy and these  must be discontinued before the next administration."

However, while noting that it acknowledge the idea of  commercialization,it discovered that nothing per se  has changed in the sector since July 2022. Noting that, " Even with commendable  efforts of  the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Mal. Mele Kyari's efforts to transform  the company, it  has  failed."

According to the group,the federal  government has no reason to still be in the oil and gas sector, especially that  several governments have shown lack of  capacity to revive and refloat it for profit purposes.

" For these reasons ,we  align with several economists who have submitted that Government should as a matter of urgency through transparent bidding that will be handled by the World Bank sell off all its investment in the oil sector and the proceeds of the sale  invested in Human Capital Development and the country's  sovereign wealth fund. 

"By so doing, we will be able to save the country hundreds of billions of dollars due to the unabated depreciation  in the oil industry and  generate huge revenues that can be invested in preparing Nigeria and Nigerians for a world after Oil.

"Although, there are fears in certain quarters that government will cease to make revenues from oil if it sells the NNPC, It  is not true as government will still continue to make revenues from the oil companies through royalties and petroleum profit tax after these companies are sold.

"What it  will forfeit is production sharing from the Joint Venture companies that would have been sold off. And savings will be made form selling off the loss making arms of NNPC that constitute a huge drain pipe in the coffers of the nation. With the selling of NNPC government can now focus mainly on the generation of taxes to meet it’s financial needs."

After many years of a hope-dashed situation and a seemingly hopeless representation the people of Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha federal constituency have experienced. A Man with a rudy face of hope, and love for his people have surfaced in 2019 with massive development.

The gross complaints of bad representation a tap of expected rising hope were extended to Hon Jafar Magaji to contest the Adamawa state Federal Constituency.

For the first time in the history of Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha, a Man who knows what is people-oriented representation has broken the embers of tribal and religious politics. A politics that leaders from past regimes have used to marginalize, and exclude many others because of a lack of poor sense of good leadership.

Magaji is now a renowned grassroots politician and a mobilizer whose high repute over the years has grown up his political feathers emancipating the Youth and women of many of the Adamawa communities in the All Progressives Congress, APC.

His three years and a half representing the Adamawa federal constituency are a true testimony of a good leader that loves,  all is doing is breaking the magic of politics of primordial sentiments. Without shadows of doubt, the Gude, the Falis, the Nzanyis, the Hausas, Fulanis, and many other tribes can give an honest verdict that the jinx of sectional and tribal politics has expired.

Jafar is now the emancipator of the masses, a bridge builder whose voice in the national assembly is all the time loudly heard projecting and canvassing the Interest of his people at the hallow chambers of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Before the 2019 election in his constituency, there was a huge and open vacuum created, and this left his people in dire need of better representation, Jafar was called upon to be the people's life of hope and find solutions to the constituency's myriads' problems. Since then and now the story is changed, he is now a life changer of hope. The three local government areas are now having a touch of good representation, he brought unprecedented development in the area of infrastructure and created development bills and motions for his people. One of Jafar's Cardinal areas of focus is human capital development. Many of his constituents in all the political wards are empowered by Jafar's humanitarian gesture. He did all that for his people because he want to fight poverty to its, and gave them a restoration hope that the effects of Boko Haram activities should not cage them down.

The people who have beckoned on this talented and gifted Politician whose leadership strides are noticeably anywhere he goes have a passion for rendering selfless services and living a life of sacrifice for the growth of other people and his community. 

Jafar once again answered the call in APC, a party he described as for the growth and development not only of the Adamawa state but for the whole of Nigeria. He is no doubt an APC Man, willing and battle ready for the 2023 election to Labour well for the total emancipation of his people in Adamawa North who are still yearning, and longing for his second term.

The Young lawmaker has broken down the barriers of vain glory politicians who use tribes and religion to stand in defense of their feeble political strength in the zone because they have nothing to offer. 

The campaign of calumny on the bases of tribes or religion is no longer a fashion for weaker-link politicians to use against this future assured for the Youth, the old, and women who are the reason why he is in the national assembly. He has grown beyond the challenge of politics of tribe and religion, the Young Man is now a visionary leader with a national focus to serve Nigerians in 2023 and beyond.

No wonder there is massive support is getting from many parts of the Constituency, it's no doubt the time has come for a supersonic change again, he is yet again bringing new things to the political table of his constituents. Observing the train of his political moves is a fact on the ground that Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha he will maintain the baton of leadership in the All progressives congress (APC) because no candidate from any party that is as popular as he is, his general acceptability is more than anybody wishing to represent the area.

The 2023 election will be a shock to even students of politics as party politics will no longer count. It's a politics of political personalities, not political party identities. With these indices and factors as 2023 elections characteristics, Magaji in APC without an iota of doubt will take the lead in changing the narratives of again in his Constituency. 

For the people of Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha, your consolidated votes for this man will guarantee your political strong will and liberation.

Female Basketball Tournament :Zamfara Set To Represent North West Zone

The Zamfara state females basketball team is to represent north West zone for the incoming national sports festival at Delta state. The basketball team had made an excellent record of having becoming first after betting Kaduna basketball team in final match encountered.

While interviewed with our newsmen in Kaduna, the director administration directorate for sports development also the head of the delegation for the 31st west zonal elimination competition recently held in Kaduna, Lawal Suleiman Gusau.

Expressed his delightness over the performances with players in differents categories; beach volleyball, conventional volleyball, and basketball for males and females teams.

Also the state head of the caches directorate of sports development, Tajuddeen Azeez Afolabi, commended the Zamfara state government of making tremendous efforts in the development by settled our allowances; match allowance, feeding, accommodation and providing all the necessary sporting materials in the tournament.

"I also commended the players and the coaches for their cooperation and disciplined,also urged them to work hard,struck hard and trains hard for the success in the next national sports festival".

Favoured farmers train 85 cluster leaders on wheat, soyabeans dry season farming for 2022 project

As the war between Russian and Ukraine hit harder, it's gradually affecting the supply and causing the scarcity of wheat worldwide. This scarcity has become an opportunity for African countries to increase their wheat farming and production among other grains to bridge the gap at the local and international markets.

Figures from the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) show that in 2020 Russia accounted for about 11 % of global wheat production and 19 % of global wheat exports (making Russia the world's largest wheat exporter that year).

A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) called Favoured Farmers Community Empowerment Trust (FFACET) has trained 85 cluster leaders to retrain 25,000 farmers in wheat production and 5,000 farmers for Soyabeans in the dry season farming for the 2022 project.

The National President of FFACET, Amb. Joseph Tanimu Yakubu during a two day seminar in Nasarawa state said " the training is in collaboration with the federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development which is targeted at exposing the farmers on how to handle modern technologies on wheat production thereby producing large quantities for Nigeria and the global market.

" We're going into farming 25 hectares of wheat production in the country and in view of this all inputs are available and we're giving them the technical knowledge in wheat production during the dry season.

"because wheat is a sensitive crop moving with the harmantan weather not like other crops so we brought all our clusters leaders from 10 states to benefit from this training. 

Amb. Yakubu revealed that they are also during 5 hectares of Soyabeans in the dry season too.

According to him the farmers will benefit 60 percent of the production as all the necessary inputs are being provided by FFACET and already taken into the various states captured for the organic production.

He explained further that the farming activities will be in cluster units for ease distribution of inputs and monitoring of their activities to avoid diversion.

"We have already group them into cluster units so the distribution of inputs for irrigation and payment for their labour will be executed smoothly.

The President noted they are partnering with foreign investors who are demanding for wheats and other four value-chain crops from them.

The beneficiaries who speaks to our correspondent accrossboard expressed satisfaction with the training that it has shifted their horizons from manual farming to mechanized farming system to boost wheat production.

The highlights of the event was the inauguration of the presidential Committee to oversees the success of the project.

The Emir of Gumel, HRH Alh. Ahmed Mohammed Sani II, has given his blessings to Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). 

This was during Prince Adebayo’s visit to honor the invitation to the Emirate of Gumel Durbar Festival in Jigawa State on Saturday, 8th October, 2022.

The SDP presidential candidate was received by the Emir of Gumel before the Durbar Festival commenced.

In his speech, Prince Adewole noted that his visit to Gumel is an example of politics without bitterness.

He said, “When our Emir was in politics as general secretary of the GMPP, the motto of the party is politics without bitterness, and that was what the peace accord was meant to be”. 

“In doing our politics, we are going to disagree on issues, but  we would give no bitterness. We will compete on ideas; we will see ourselves as children of Nigeria and leaders of Nigeria. We are brothers, even if we disagree on issues we don't disagree in persons, and  our followers and supporters will know that they, too, are brothers and sisters, that election will be over and Nigeria will continue”, he said.

He noted that the SDP is committed to eradicating poverty and insecurity and this is the message of hope that has been brought to the people of Gumel in Jigawa state. 

He said, “What has been slowing them down is that they need a government that is committed to eradicating security and eradicating poverty and that is what message we have brought here. By the time that we will come here next year, insha Allah we will be in government and you will see a lot of projects in this emirate”.

The Emir of Gumel, HRH Alh. Ahmed Mohammed Sani II(CON) gave his blessings, prayed for him and expressed his support for Prince Adewole Adebayo.

Prince Adewole was accompanied by his entourage made up of Sen. Alkali Baba (The Saraduna of Gumel), Alhaji Shehu Gabam(SDP National Chairman), Solomon Dalung, Godwin Osigbeme, Ali Shettima SDP Kano State Chairman and other Jigawa state party Excos.
