NSF Zonal Elimination: North West Holds Technical Session, Competition Begins



*Zonal Coordinator warns that rules must be adhered to

Ahead the commencement of action to determine those that would represent the zone, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development North West Zone has concluded its Technical Session for the representatives that would qualify for the 21st National Sports Festival (NSF) from the Zonal Teams Sports Elimination Kaduna 2022, at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

Speaking at the session on Tuesday, the e Zonal Sports Coordinator, Muhammed Kabir  Datti  warned that rules must be strictly adhered to by all teams.



"We should all be conscious of the fact  that we are gathered here for serious business.



"Before the NSF, two things happen, one is zonal elimination and the other is torch of unity.



"At the moment, we have six states on ground, the team of Jigawa is still on the way. We need your maximum cooperation. If you spoil these games, you spoil this zone.



"I was in North East for six years and did not have any problem. We have received entries from all the states.



"Referees ensure you apply the rules and regulations strictly," he charged.



He explained that first and second of every category would qualify for the NSF.



In a welcome address, the Director of Sports (DoS) Kaduna State, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim, represented by Deputy Director, Florence Yori said that all teams are welcome to Kaduna.



"Kaduna is a safe place, but a word of caution, don't move around late at night. I want to welcome you to Kaduna once again, you will see, touch, but don't take away," she said.

The zonal elimination is featuring basketball, baseball, Beach volleyball, football, handball, hockey, softball and volleyball.

It would hold simultaneously across two venues at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) and Murtala Mohammed Square (MMS), from October 3 to 7, 2022.



It is organised in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government
