GLOMIP Berates Ekweremadu For Double talk Regarding Igbo Presidency

Today on the Front Page of the Daily Trust was a statement credited to Senator Ike Ekweremadu, stating that ceding the 2023 Igbo Presidency would end Biafra Agitation. But in swift reaction to his statement, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, described Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as a subtle  hypocrite,  who ought to remain voiceless on issues and national conversations relating to the 2023 Igbo Presidency.

"On the 10th March, 2021 at about 7pm, I visited Senator Ekweremadu in his residence at the Apo Legislative Quarters, the purpose was to have a private discussion with him about the need in 2023 for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction. But to my greatest dismay, Senator Ekwemadu told me that those of us pushing for Igbo Preaidency in 2023 are not asking for the right thing. He told me he has nothing wrong with the North retaining Presidency in 2023". How come, this same Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is the one coming out to pretentiously advocate for 2023 Igbo Presidency. He is a Pretender seeking cheap national recognition and unpopular endorsement among Igbos.

It may interest you to also know that Comrade Kennedy Iyere, is the Founder/Coordinator of the Global Movement for Igbo President 2023 (GLOMIP 2023), the flagship global campaign group for 2023 Igbo Presidency. He is a frontline champion and campaigner for "2023 Power Shift" from the North to the South. He believes the fact that the Presidential Seat must be zoned to the South in 2023. He is a very close and strong ally of the Afenifere Group, Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Southern and Middle Belt Forum (SMBF) etc. He is the face of the global  advocacy for 2023 Igbo Presidency.

"Igbos are the greatest obstacles to the actualization of Igbo Presidency in 2023", that was also a quote by Comrade Kennedy Iyere. He further confirmed the fact that in 2023, Presidency will shift from the North to the South. According to him, he may shift his support from the Igbos, if they refuse to have a change of attitude. He added that the Yorubas are better positioned to clinch the presidential ticket in 2023, he will be ready to work in favour of the Yorubas.

CSOs Hails PDP for a peaceful, credible and transparent primaries, charges Party to support the ongoing election security campaign.

CIVIL SOCIETY COMMITTEE FOR ANAMBRA ELECTION SECURITY (CISCAES), an election security and peace action committee,  headed by a renowned social entrepreneur and peace activist, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, has congratulated the leadership of the People's Democratic Party PDP for the conduct of  a credible, transparent, free and fair primary, which culminated into the emergence of a widely accepted candidate, Valentine Ozigbo,  as the flag bearer of the People"s Democratic Party, in the forthcoming November 6 guber poll in Anambra State.

Recall that this same coalition of CSOs had earlier raised an alarm, few days ago, over the perceived intention to rig the Primary, which in the process indicted some key officials of the Party. Those key Party Officials indicted in the Group's Protest Letters signed by Comrade Iyere,  were able to clear themselves, after the wide publication of the protest letters. In order to ensure the authenticity of their claim of innocence, CISCAES stakeholders, were largely on ground to monitor the Primary and report derived by the Group's monitoring team was vindictive. All thanks goes to Col.Austine Alobundu, the National Organising Security of the PDP, for allowing a credible Primary. We also want the leadership of the APC and APGA to borrow some lessons from Uche Secondus and his team, in order to learn how best to conduct a credible and widely acceptable Primaries. As a coalition of CSOs, it is our earnest desire that with the successful  conclusion of this primary, the party would reach out to all aspirants who have participated in the primary with the aim of pacifying the aggrieved ones among them, with a view to incorporating everyone of them into Valentine Ezigbo's campaign team. This will not only enhance the party's chances of victory but also promote peaceful conduct of the election processes in general.

Similarly, we wish to extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr.Valentine Ozigbo for emerging, as the winner of the primary, which could only have been achieved through the grace of God and  a tedious campaign.

We therefore extend our hands of fellowship to both Mr Ozigbo, the PDP and other aspirants, who participated in the contest. We encourage everyone of you  to join forces with us towards the actualization of  a violence-free, credible and widely accepted Anambra 2021 guber election, which of course, is the purpose for the formation of CISCAES.  We thank you and may God Almighty bless your family.  Comrade Kennedy Iyere, Convener, Civil Society Committee for Anambra Election Security (CISCAES)

...... thanks Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for constant support

....... says the Nigeria Volleyball Federation will begin preparations for Paris 2024 immediately

The Chairman Caretaker Committee of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has commended the fighting spirit of Nigeria beach volleyball women's team despite losing the final on Sunday.

Kenya beat Nigeria 2-0 to in the women's final to secure the sole ticket ahead of next month's Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Nimrod who watched the final in his base in Kaduna describe the players as worthy ambassadors and told them to be proud of themselves.

He said the final was a repeat of what happened to Nigeria five years ago where we failed to secure the ticket against Egypt in the final.

The Chairman of Nigeria Beach Volleyball Commission said, "I am super proud of the fighting spirit the team displayed at the final today. The team gave Kenya a good fight but could not secure the Tokyo Olympics slot losing 2-0.

"I see great potentials in this team and all I can say is that they are worthy ambassadors to have gotten into the final. The race for Paris 2024 will begin soon and the Federation will partner with other beach volleyball countries in order for them to attend some tours".

The Secretary General of Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 revealed that the team will participate in  Beach World Tour in Rwanda and also Zone 3 beach competition in Cotonou next July.

"I am also announcing that next July, the team will participate in  Beach World Tour in Rwanda and also Zone 3 beach competition in Cotonou.

The team coming second will require them going for the losers competition usually in Europe".

Nimrod thanked the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development led by Chief Sunday Dare for his continuous support in ensuring volleyball grow in the country.

He said, "Volleyball has enjoyed support from Chief Sunday Dare led Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. The game of volleyball is growing and some of our targets is to ensure we became a grade B sports, develop players who will make the country proud and ensure the national senior teams return to their rightful place in Africa".

"My appreciation also goes to the volleyball stakeholders including players who supported the team right from their training tours to the end of the qualifiers in Morocco. Let us continue to work for the progress of volleyball in order to be a force to be reckoned with", he added

ANAMBRA 2021:

OPEN PROTEST LETTER TO COL.AUSTINE AKOBUNDU
AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

CISCAES is a security watchdog designed to promote a safe, peaceful and credible
electoral process for the forthcoming 2021 Anambra guber-poll. The core objective
behind the creation of CISCAES, is to checkmate existing or potential threats of violent conflicts, fraud, insecurity and other forms of illegalities by monitoring and reporting the unethical conducts of political parties, aspirants or candidates and their key stakeholders or supporters.

CISCAES had received with sadness, complaints of proven reports from various key
PDP stakeholders across several Local Governments of Anambra State, stating the
ugly reality of the unlawful adulteration of the list of the Automatic Delegates, assigned
to participate and vote in the Party’s Primary of Anambra PDP, being scheduled for
tomorrow 26th June, 2021, ahead of the forthcoming November guber-poll.

This is yet another fraudulent step, being taken by some corrupt members of the PDP,
both in Anambra State and in the Party’s Secretariat in Abuja, in the efforts to illegally
influence and pre-determine the outcome of the election in favour of their own preferred
“Aspirant”, which of course, is based on the financial gratification they have received
from the “Aspirant”.

This undemocratic practice is unacceptable; hence this letter is being written and presented to the general public, in protest against the Office of the
National Organizing Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, headed by Col.
Austine Akobundu (rtd).

On the honour of your Office, as the National Organizing
Secretary (NOS), CISCAES hereby request that the fake names be immediately
removed from the list.
I am sure you are aware of what is happening with the list. There is no way you can
claim ignorance of it. This time around, we won’t allow it happen, like it was with the last time

Furthermore, during the ad-hoc delegates primary, held last week. Col.Austine Akobundu (rtd), by this open
letter, you were indicted of conniving with corrupt stakeholders in Anambra State,  to unjustly manipulate and adulterate the list of the Automatic Delegates, assigned to  participate and vote in the Party’s Primary holding tomorrow 26th June, 2021.

Unless you remove the names, there will be a mass protest of the NGOs/CSOs under
CISCAES, against you and your Office for the obvious fraud, being perpetrated.
You promised me on several occasions, that the Primaries will be free, fair and credible. But those promises ended up as “mere empty words”, what a shame!

These pranks have got to stop now, save your name from the mud. Remove those
fraudulent names from the list because you know how the names were generated. I will
end this protest letter, by quoting the great Bob Marley, when he said “You can’t fool
some of the people all of the time”. This time around, we are not ready to be fooled.

Ekwunife, Pius Ayim Andy Ubah, others out to Sabotage PDP in Anambra,CISCAES warns

A coalition of groups under the name Civil Society Commitee For Anambra Election Security,
CISCAES has alerted the nation about the plot by Senator Uche Ekwunife to sabotage the People's Democratic Party if she or her preferred candidates are imposed on the party.
According to the group, Ekwunife is working assiduously to make sure that statutory delegates from the 21 Local Government Areas in Areas are disqualified from in the primaries scheduled for 26th June 2021.

In an open letter signed by Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the coalition group further accused the Senator of unduly influencing selection of Ad-hoc delegates to her advantage .

According to the statement, Dr.Chris Uba , former Senate President, Pius Ayim Pius, Stellah Odua and Emeka Ihedioha are working in tandem with Uche Ekwunife and their over aim  to scuttle the aspiration of Peter Obi who may likely be the Presidential flag bearer or running mate to whoever the PDP may elect to run for the 2023 Presidential election .

CISCAES further warned that Senator Ekwunife is a serial defector from one party to another and that her intentions in the PDP may not be dissimilar to her past habit of causing havoc and then defecting from one party to another .
According to the Coalition, Ekwunife had in time past, defected from the PDP to APC as a sitting Senator. She also defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA at other times , the group warned .

ANAMBRA 2021:

OPEN LETTER TO THE NATIONAL WORKING
COMMITTEE OF THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP).

CISCAES is a security watchdog designed to promote a safe, peaceful and credible
electoral process for the forthcoming 2021 Anambra guber-poll.

The core objective behind the creation of CISCAES, is to checkmate existing or potential threats of violent
conflicts, fraud, insecurity and other forms of illegalities by monitoring and reporting the
unethical conducts of political parties, aspirants or candidates and their key
stakeholders or supporters.

CISCAES had received complaints of proven reports from various PDP statutory
delegates across the 21 Local Governments of Anambra State, affirming the fact that
Senator Uche Ekwunife and her supporters have been in jubilation mode since
yesterday, over the Court Judgement, delivered against the PDP but in favour of Chris
Ubah, who has engaged his Party (PDP), in a destructive intra-party legal battle.

According to the complainants, Senator Uche Ekwunife, is inarguably one of the strong
pillars behind the legal battle led by Chris Ubah against the PDP. The interest of Senator Ekwunife, is to disenfranchise statutory delegates from voting in the Primary, scheduled for the 26th June, 2021.

It is a widely known fact, that some key stakeholders of the PDP had earlier connived
with Senator Uche Ekwunife, to largely manipulate the process and results of the recently conducted Anambra PDP Ad-hoc Delegates Primary. Their intention is to disenfranchise the statutory delegates from voting in the “Primary”,knowing well that the ad-hoc delegates had been unfairly selected, in favour of Uche Ekwunife.

This  attempt is not only crooked but also capable of instigating violent conflicts, and in view  of these critical threats of violence and insecurity, CISCAES is writing to reveal the fact that Uche Ekwunife is a MOLE in PDP. She is a desperate politician who prioritizes her selfish political ambition above the peace, security and political stability of Anambra
State and Nigeria at large. She is unworthy to run for the post of a Governor!

Senator Ekwunife is not in support of a free, fair and credible PDP primary. This is the  only way she believes she can manipulate her illusive victory. It is also the reason for
her ruthless and “do or die” approach.

This letter is meant to serve, a rather late reminder of the fact, that Senator Ekwunife is someone unworthy of trust and who must  at this point in time, be stopped from doing further harms to the Party and the safety of  the 2021 Anambra guber-poll. She is a MOLE, who is still loyal to her former Parties and capable of decamping any day from the PDP – please check out her antecedents.

If it was possible for Senator Ekwunife to get elected as PDP Governor, still she will dump the PDP and decamp to another.
Check out her political history, she had at one  point, or the other, decamped from the PDP, APC and APGA. She decamped from the  PDP as a sitting Senator – a word is enough for the wise!

For the peace, security and political stability of Anambra State and Nigeria at large,
PDP should at this point in time, realize the fact that Senator Uche Ekwunife is
someone, who is out to create setbacks for the Party in Anambra State.

She is aware  she cannot be elected Governor by the people of Anambra State. But her aim is to  destroy the chances of the PDP, thus assisting one of her former Parties to produce
the next Governor, and then she decamps from the PDP and have her automatic ticket
to the Senate under the new ruling Party.

She is currently vying under PDP to be elected  Governor, yet she is secretly joining forces with Chris Ubah to destroy the Party’s  chances of electoral victory, ahead of the 2021 guber-poll.

For all her allies, especially Emeka Ihedioha, Stella Oduah and Senator Anyim Pius
Anyim, you need to know at this time that “Anambra State” is not the National Assembly.
This your unpatriotic alliance is but a fight against Peter Obi, it is an attempt to destroy
the chances of Peter Obi , in his 2023 bid for Presidency, either as a Presidential or
Vice Presidential candidate.

It is left for Peter Obi to defend his future opportunity, else
he gets the shocker of his life. Uche Ekwunife will stand for Senator Anyim against
Peter Obi, when in 2023 they both declare interest to take a shot at the Presidency –
either as President or Vice President.

This is why Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, is all out  to rig for Uche Ekwunife and had started with the Ad-hoc Primary conducted last week.

But he would only be working to assist either the APC or APGA, because the people of
Anambra State have said a big “NO” to Uche Ekwunife, she can’t be elected a Governor. It is an effort in futility! Election is not war but a peaceful process. Regards,

Coalition of Civil Society, Political Group Cautions Ekwunife, Write Open Letter

A coalition of civil society organizations has advised the Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Uche Ekwunife to stop heating up the polity (by her indulgence in hate campaign) and  have expressed fear over what it described, as a desperate inordinate ambition to clinch the PDP Anambra 2021 gubernatorial ticket by all means, either by hook or by crook.

The group under the aegis of “Civil Society Committee for Anambra Election Security (COSCAES), raised the concern in its multi-paragraph article, affirming that such action poses dangerous signals that can scuttle the transparency and credibility of the June 26 PDP primary, as well as engender a violent electoral process.

The group which spoke through its Coordinator, Comrade Kennedy Iyere demands the retraction or withdrawal of Senator Ekwunife’s media attacks on the person of Valentine Ozoigbo, following his open endorsement by the former Governor of Anambra state, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike). The group affirms that Okwadike has the right to choose and endorse a preferred candidate of his own choice. They further advised Senator Ekwunife to adopt a new style of democratic campaign, in the spirit of sportsmanship, adding that election is not an act of war but a process of peaceful contest.

The group frowned at Senator Ekwunife’s media public contradiction of the former Governor and highly respected elder stateman, describing her action, as a reckless display of moral aberration. The group classified her claims in the purported media publication, as infantile and suggest it should be disregarded by the general public.

Here are some of the quotes extracted from the open letter issued by the group to Senator Uche Ekwunife:

“Your most recent contradictory media reports on the person of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike), following his open endorsement of a fellow aspirant, is not only uncivil and undemocratic but unpatriotic, and cliquish"".

"Okwadike is an institution, whose influence extends beyond your village, Igbo-Ukwu, being  the first democratically elected Governor of Ananmbra State. Therefore, your attempt to cage a man of Okwadike’s status, is nothing else but a deliberate act of moral aberration”
.
"The video in circulation shows where the heart of Okwadike lies, it is not what you can change but a hard reality you must inevitably embrace. Okwadike is aware of the fact that the aspirant he endorsed, is far ahead of you in the ongoing gubernatorial race and stands the best chance of winning the election among the contestants within the PDP”

"Several prominent political influencers in Anambra State had at different times called on Okwadike to advise you to step down from the gubernatorial contest".

"You may have been assisted by some few corrupt top PDP stakeholders in manipulating the outcome of the recently conducted delegate primary but still, there are also other credible top stakeholders in PDP whose interest lies more on the party’s victory in the main election, than deriving selfish financial benefits from a desperate Uche Ekwunife”

ANAMBRA 2021: OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR UCHE EKWUNIFE

Senator Uche Ekwunife, your inordinate ambition to clinch the PDP Anambra 2021 gubernatorial ticket by all means, either by hook or by crook, sends a very dangerous signal to those of us, who are investing a great deal of our financial resources, expertise, energy and time in promoting peace and stimulating political stability in Nigeria.

Your reckless desperation is undeniably opulent, thus engendering acts of gangsterism and radicalization, particularly among your youth supporters, who in their ignorance or naivety, shall be engaged, as thugs and elements of political intimidation.

As an expert in conflict prevention, I have seen lots of common sense in calling you to order at this point, the failure of which will further complicate the existing worrisome insecurity in Anambra State and the entire south-eastern region.

Your most recent media report on His Excellency, Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike Ndigbo), following his open endorsement of another gubernatorial aspirant is not only uncivil and undemocratic but also very childish, unpatriotic, and cliquish. Okwadike has the right to choose and endorse whoever he pleases to align with. He does not need your consent or authorization to do so.

At this point, you must stop this “do or die” approach to politics. It is most disappointing of a woman, who currently serves, as a Senator of the Federal Republic.

Okwadike is an institution, whose influence extends beyond your village, Igbo-Ukwu. As the first democratically elected Governor of Ananmbra State, he is a father to all indigenes of Anambra State. Therefore, your attempt to cage a man of Okwadike’s status, is nothing else but a deliberate act of moral aberration. In your media attacks on the aspirant Okwadika endorsed, one of your strong arguments is that the former governor calls you his “daughter”, but he is certainly not your biological father. He is your father in general terms, as much as he is a father to other aspirants.

The video in circulation shows where the heart of Okwadike lies, it is not what you can change but a hard reality you must inevitably embrace. Okwadike is aware of the fact that the aspirant he endorsed is far ahead of you in the ongoing gubernatorial race and stands the best chance of winning the election among the contestants within the PDP.

Inarguably, you are very much afraid of a free and fair primary election because you know that without manipulations, you will perform poorly. This is the point you need to humble yourself for once and lend your ears to Okwadike, he has some open secrets to share with you. He is aware you stand no chance of being elected a Governor by the people of Anambra State. Several prominent political influencers in Anambra State had at different times called on Okwadike to advise you to step down from the gubernatorial contest. Many key stakeholders in your party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both at the national and state levels are also aware of the fact that the people of Anambra State are not willing to elect Uche Ekwunife, as Governor. But they could choose to play along with you just to exploit financial gains to your own detriment and that of the party.

You may have been assisted by some few corrupt top PDP stakeholders in manipulating the outcome of the recently conducted delegate primary but still, it is certain that you will lose out in the actual primary election, scheduled to hold on the 26th June, 2021. This is because there are still other credible top stakeholders in PDP whose interest lies more on the party’s victory in the main election in November than deriving selfish financial benefits from a desperate Uche Ekwunife.

Also, the PDP delegates themselves are not ignorant of the fact that the good people of Anambra do not want you as their Governor for reasons that are obvious.

I am one of the greatest advocates of greater participation of women in politics but certainly not in the uncivil way and reckless manner you have conducted yourself. Please adjust yourself and adopt a new approach which portrays the spirit of sportsmanship. This is supposedly a civil contest and not an electoral war!

Just for the records, I spoke with Okwadike yesterday and he regretfully confirmed to me that you are circulating FAKE NEWS about him around the media, alleging that he denied endorsement of Valentine Ozigbo. He is not happy with you and I will, on that note, advise that you give him a call and tender to him your unreserved apologies. I hope you also know that his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Grace Ezeife, has not forgiven you for what you did to her. Please, in the interest of peace, it will be advisable for you to make peace with the Ezeifes.

My next letter will be addressed to other PDP leaders who know me well but due to their unpatriotic involvement with matters concerning the delegate primary held last week. They can attest to the fact that I have done more than enough for Nigeria, as a patriotic citizen. In 2014/2015, I created and funded the country’s single largest electoral peace project, ahead of the 2015 general elections, tagged “Save Nigeria-2015 Campaign”, which was implemented at the cost of $6 Million.

I have championed and advocated more for “2023 South-East Presidency” than anybody else in Nigeria and as living witnesses to this reality, I have several Igbo leaders, including Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike), Prof George Obiozor, Senator Ben Obi, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo, Prof ABC Nwosu, Senator Margery Okadigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, Chief Ralph Nwosu, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, Prof Madubuke, Ize Fidelis Ozichukwu, Prof Osita Nebo, Prof Pat Utomi, Prof Kingsley Moghalu, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, Chief Gary Igariwey, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Dr Nnanna Igwe and many others, both home and in diaspora. I created the “Global Movement for Igbo President 2023”, please Google it and see what I have done for the South East. Therefore, I am not someone whose voice can be ignored.

I am a high-profile social entrepreneur, peace activist and a cosmopolitan and highly celebrated donor fundraiser, who indeed needs no further introduction because I am very well known across and beyond Nigeria.

I run the largest youth enterprise non-governmental organization in Africa, known as Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI), an NGO which has generated large volumes of donor funds around the globe, in support of social impact projects in Nigeria, specifically focused on taking youths off the streets (saving youths from a life of crime) and nurturing them to become responsible citizens and positive contributors towards Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development.

Senator Uche Ekwunife, I implore you, give peace a chance in Anambra PDP and in Anambra State! Please this is not a media attack on your person but a brotherly admonition. This is the right time to speak up against any threats that can further jeopardize our already evasive peace, security and political stability. Election is no war, there was a life before it and there will still be life after it. Lets not destroy the future for ourselves.
