Cleen foundation organised workshop on human right documentation and management

Cleen foundation have organised a two- days capacity building sensitization programs on human right documentation and management for the police oversight and agencies in the north west zone region, held in Kaduna.
While speaking media men  during the work shop,the director programme Cleen foundation Mr Salahuddeen Hashim, said that"the purpose of this gathering is to improve and promote police integrity by developing on under standing of police misconduct, and determined the nature and extent of police misconduct in Nigeria".
"To explore whether these displinary measures bring changes to police misconduct, and determine the number of police officers who have been disciplined are profile within the time".
He however noted that" the police misconduct are those offences and crimes committed by police officers using the constitutional powers of arrest.despite that various structures had been setup to handle the police misconduct.for both internal and external".
The internal structure include; the complaints response unit (URU),public complaints bureau (PCB),provost department), (PD),force criminal investigation department (FCID)and IGP monitoring unit.while the external structure include; the human right commission (HRC),police service commission (PSC) and public complaints commission(PCC)".
Mr Sahuddeen also narrated the variuos types of police misconduct finding which include; corrupt practice related offences, violation related offences, drug/drunkness related offences, sex related offences and breach of confidence related offences.
One of the participants for the workshop Abubakar Jibril, a lecturer department of sociology Usmanu Danfodiyo university Sokoto, described the workshop as timely considered its importance on human right cases amongst the law enforcement agencies in north west zone region.
" I called on the participants to listen attemptebly and understand it's impacts and also make sure they have implemente it to the wider society ".
The Senior legal officer human right commission Bauchi, Yusuf Musa emphasized the the importance of human right commission the way they have close to the ordinary citizens, for being free for every ordinary man to summit their allegations without any hindrances.
