APC governors celebrate Bagudu, PGF chairman at 60The serving governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the aiges of Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has rolled out drums to celebrate its Chairman and Kebbi state governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu on his 60th birthday anniversary.The forum in a statement signed Sunday in Abuja, by its Treasurer and Kogi state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, described governor Bagudu as an inspiration to the members of the forum.The APC governors said they joined the family of Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, people and government of Kebbi state and party members across Nigeria, especially in APC states, to celebrate the 60th birthday of "our distinguished leader."The statement acknowledged and commended Bagudu's leadership, vision and painstaking commitment to the development of the party, All Progressives Congress (APC). It said: "Under the leadership of our President, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, we acknowledge your initiatives to ensure sustained unity among our team of Progressive Governors. "Recognising that the politics of Nigeria is passing through fundamental changes, which is a necessary condition for the institution of enduring progressive governance, as our Chairman, you have been able to inspire us to come up with initiates to ensure that our party remained focused towards delivering on our mandate to change Nigeria."We rejoice with His Excellency, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu on this special day. We also reaffirm our commitment to continue to work with the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to roll out programmes that would strengthen the capacities of our governments to create jobs, fight insecurity, stimulate economic activity, reduce inequality and diminish poverty in Nigeria. "Congratulations and Happy Birthday to His Excellency, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu!"We rejoice with you and will always look up to you for inspiring guidance."


The Director General of the NIgerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh  has lamented that resources worth billions of Naira remain untapped, wasting under the several rivers that NIgeria is blessed with 

Jamoh expressed this, while interacting with some select journalists in Kaduna on Friday at his residence, after he have away his daughter in marriage in a ceremony attended by several top dignitaries from across the country.

He said that the media as a voice that reaches out to all across board, must make deliberate efforts at constantly drawing attention of all, especially those in areas presumed as landlocked, tha treasure remains untapped in our various rivers.

"Anytime I drive past River Kaduna, I say to my self, billions of dollars resources are flowing away," he said.

The NIMASA DG said that besides the natural resources wasting away under the river, it could also give a boost to the tourism industry if hospitality industry invests in hotels around the river banks.

Speaking further, he said that oil as a natural resource might be exhausted someday, but the rivers and water mass remain and would be a good way to diversify the country's source of income.

Dr. Jamoh when asked why NIgeria is not favoured considering its size and stretch over the Gulf of Guinea, said that NIgeria is respected the world over and whenever the Gulf of Guinea is mentioned, it is the first country that comes to mind.

Earlier at the wedding reception for Dr. Jamoh's daughter at the Umaru Musa Yaradua Gymnasium Hall Murtala Square Kaduna, several top dignitaries were spotted, notable among whom were the Executive Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum.

Also spotted  among guests, is the Senator representing Southern Kadunà, Senator Danjuma La'ah.

In his welcome address at the wedding reception,  Chairman Governing Board, NIMASA , Dr. Asita  said that Dr. Jamoh is a true Nigerian as such friends and we'll wishers cane from all over the country to rejoice with him.

"I am here on behalf of the Minister of Transport he extends his greetings.

"I am very happy with what I have seen here, for the support Dr. Jamoh and his family are getting.


"We celebrate with him and the new family. You know when you give out your daughter, you take in a son," he said.

In his remarks, Honourable Chudi Ofudili  said that Dr. Jamoh  has always supported them when they have their occasions all over the country, as such, they had to come from far and near to celebrate his daughter's wedding with him.
