The Member Representing Gwaram Federal Constituency, Jigawa State Hon. Yusuf Shittu Galambi has described the N5000 palliative for 40 million Nigerians as a huge waste that would not reach the intended persons.
The Federal Law maker who was fielding questions from Journalists in his office at the National Assembly on in Abuja said ,
"I do not trust whoever brought that idea of N5000 for 40 million Nigerians.
He continued further," at the end they may steal that money.
Let that money be used to rehabilitate refineries or build new ones", Galambi added.
The Member of House of Representatives, went on to state that, he was not against removal of petroleum subsidy but that the Federal Government should put in place structures and policies that would cushion the effects of subsidy removal noting that he is in support of fuel subsidy removal as long as the proper mechanism is put in place to support Nigerians
