Sabon Tasha Kidnap Victim Dies From Complications, Buried Amidst Tears




Tears flowed extensively as 19-year old David Tony, a victim of the Ungwan Bulus Kidnap incident on March 30, 2022 was on Friday May 6, 2022 laid to rest.

He died at 44 Army Hospital in Kaduna on Thursday, from complications suffered after he was kidnapped from his house alongside his parents and two siblings.

While in captivity for two weeks, he suffered health challenges, from which complications he died.

Fielding question from newsmen at the Sabon Tasha Cemetery shortly after the intermittent, Pastor David Okoh, uncle to victim said the young man died at 44 Army Reference Hospital  after complications at the age of 19.

"After he was released by their abductors, his parents were still held but we're later released las Saturday.

"Before their abduction, he was on medication that he was expected to take daily. The two weeks spent there,  affected him. We first took him to a hospital in Ungwan Bro after he was vomiting and stooling blood, from where we were referred to 44 Army Hospital.

"He was given about four pints of blood but unfortunately, he didn't survive," he said.

On how  the father, mother and sisters regained freedom, he said they rallied round and raised  five million Naira to secure the family's release 

"We had to rally round, I even sold my car and other belongings to raise five million Naira to free my brother, his wife and children. They also demanded for brand new motorcycles," he said.
