World Hearing Day: Ear Care Centre Takes Free Medical Outreach To Kaduna Assembly

As part of activities to mark World Hearing Day 2021, the National Ear Care Centre Kaduna has embarked on a two-day medical outreach for members and staff of the Kaduna State House Assembly.
The outreach in honour of the day marked on March 3 annually, saw hundreds of beneficiaries screened on Thursday, which is the second day at Kaduna Assembly.
In an interview with newsmen, the Managing Director of the National Ear Care Centre, Dr. Mustapha Abubakar explained that serious cases detected, would be referred to their centre.
"Since morning, our staff have been screening the Kaduna State House of Assembly Members and staff.
"We have done examination, those that need referral will be moved to our centre," he said.
Speaking further, he said that the Ear Care Centre staff conducting the screening will also present report of WHO to the public, which advised them.on how to prevent hearing loss.
On how many staff were on ground at the outreach, he said that a large number was deployed.
"So far we don't have a figure of beneficiaries we are targeting at the outreach, but we are have seen over 150 people already and activities are ongoing. We have enough staff, doctors, nurses, radiologist, speech therapist and quite a number of staff on ground to handle any number," he added.
