Christie Sunkur the national president of potato growers, processors and marketers association of Nigeria has assured Nigerians that they should not worry about the processing and marketing of potatoes as the association has already made plans to ensue that Nigerians get potatoes as a staple food in no distance time .
"We want to inform them and tell them that they shouldn't worry about processing and marketing of potatoes because they have an association in place.
Mrs.Sunkur also assured that her association would make sure that potatoes becomes and export commodity in the next few years going by the association's timeline.
Mrs Sunkol who was speaking in Abuja on Thursday ,5 March , 2021 also highlighted the medicinal benefits of potatoes to its consumers.
We are going to sensitize our farmers first because we have varieties of potatoes especially the sweet potatoes
" We have the purple flesh, we have the orange flesh.
The purple flesh is an antioxidant ,while the orange flesh is packed full with vitamin A , even the white one too is full with Vitamin A,she added
Mrs Christie was speaking shortly after her election as the National President of Potatoes Growers, Processors and Marketers Association.
