Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Shettima Lobbying Adamawa APC Officials To Suspend Me, Sen Abbo Alleges

*it is  a cancerous  disastrous move capable of destroying the party - stakeholders

The Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has nosedived to witch-hunting and personal attacks of some of the party's members like  Mr. Ishaku Abbo (Cliff), the Senator Representing Adamawa Northern Zone.

Ishaku on his authenticated Facebook page, alleged that Senator Kashim Shettima, the Presidential running mate to Chief Ahmed Bola Tinubu has hired some Adamawa APC party officials to suspend him.

According to him, Shettima is fighting him unnecessarily instead of engaging people whose mandate he stole, "but hiring party men to fight those who are against his immoral quest for power is bad".

He accused Shettima of releasing old pictures with Catholic Bishops as proof of his endorsement by Christians, as well as  the mobilization of fake Bishops, and now he is employing intimidation of torch bearers of truth, those who love the party sincerely.

Cliff revealed that an insider in APC intimated him that Shettima has paid Mohammed Abdulĺahi, Mustapha Ribadu, Saidu Naira, Jafar Haske, and many others to perfect his removal  in Yola.

Abbo said that he is battle ready and warned that Shettima should call his traducers to order or they would fight without having victory.

Other stakeholders of the Adamawa APC have lent their voice to the alleged removal of Abbo.

Honorable Vrati S. Nzonzo, an APC Chieftain who is the party's candidate for Lamurde, Demsa, and Numan Federal Constituency, said  that it is a disastrous and cancerous move by Shettima.

Vrati, a former Lamurde Local Government Chairman, expressed worries, advising  the party to shun path because it will do more harm than good to everyone in the Adamawa party system

"They should not try that, you can't beat someone and yet stop him from crying. They have meted out injustice to people like Abbo and so many Christians in the party just because they aired out their grievances, it has now become an issue altogether.

"An attempt to do something of that nature is going to backfire back on the party. For Cliff to go this far is to tell you that the injustice of the party is too much, and is within his right to do that.

" If there is even anyone to be suspended, it is the party chairman, a man who took an oath of office guiding his conscience.

"The Chairman  without fear or favour, boldly came out and declared an anti-party behavior by supporting a candidate of another party, is the one that needs to be suspended, not Abbo.

" Anyone that touches Senator Abbo has declared a political war in Adamawa," Nzonzo warned

Another stakeholder who was the Adamawa APC organizing Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan said the party should be forewarned of the impending danger of suspending Abbo.

He said if the party is going to suspend Abbo at all costs, they should equally do that to the state's chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal who has openly shown a display of anti-party activities by campaigning for another candidate who is in another party.

Several attempts to speak to all those whose names were mentioned above  that were allegedly paid to suspend Ishaku  was not possible, only Saidu Naira and Abdullahi Mohammed responded to the calls.

Abdullahi who is the party's publicity secretary simply said he cannot comment on a baseless issue.

He said Abbo is just rising dust where there is no water to wash it down.

According to him, as far as he was concerned, he is not aware of that development and cannot comment on what he does not know, until what Abbo said has come to fruition before he can comment on it.

Naira, a party stakeholder from the Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone, said the gross misconduct of Mr. Abbo has gone too bad before now, adding that before now, nobody  nursed any motive for suspension.

He said it's unfortunate that anybody that is looking for cheap popularity will bring religion to it to get undue attention and support.

He said that since the return of Abbo to APC, he is from one scandal of the other and the Senator has never called or worked with all relevant stakeholders of the zone to bring about party unity.

He accused Abbo of operating alone without engaging people  to work for the interest of the party.

"If he thinks what he is doing warrants his suspension, so be it, but for me, nothing like that is in the pipeline or anyone cooking up something like that," Naira said.

Also, the state chairman of the Youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria Youth  (YOWICAN), Adamawa  chapter, Reverend Gabriel Shall condemned the move by Shettima.

According to him, if they succeed in suspending Abbo, it therefore, means that they have a serious hidden agenda in this country against all those that are none Muslims.

He said it is a serious warning for anyone who is not a Muslim and those with good morals to stand up and fight injustice and what will destroy Nigeria in the name of religion.

"For God's sake, Abbo is a party man and proffered solution to their party over what  will possibly consume them all and it ends up being an issue of suspension? There is more to this issue, it's an agenda they have come to achieve and the Senator is not in support.

" They are trying to be vindictive because he is saying the truth to save our corporate existence as a nation in dire need of peace, unity, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance of one's religion, and our diverse ethnic differences should be cherished not to be used to breed disharmony.

"This same Abbo was in the forefront in bringing Tinubu on board, he worked against Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, a Christian for him to turn against the Muslim-Muslim ticket and is facing suspension threats is an agenda their APC party wants to achieve.

" May I submit that, we are behind Senator Ishaku Abbo, suspending him in APC will help the party rock its boat to pieces. We can't be caged under this kind of gross open hatred of a party that is supposed to be for all Nigerians." Shall said.
