Sabo GRA Mourns Losing 2 Board Of Trustees Members Within 2 Weeks


The Tsaunin Kura GRA Residents Association (Sabo GRA), Chikun Local Government'Area of Kaduna State has described the demise of two members of its Board of Trustees within a spate of two weeks as shocking, devastating and sad.

The deceased are Elder Daniel Gogara and Mr. Stephen Unogwu.

This was expressed in a statement signed by its Executive Public Relations Officer, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen on Sunday January 17, 2021.

The statement said that the first incident, Elder Daniel Dogara occurred on December 16, 2020.

"Just as we were still mourning the death of a dedicated member of one of our board of Trustees members, Elder Dogara who died on December 16, we were devasted by another big blow of yet another member board of trustees, Mr. Stephen Unogwu. whose sad event took place barely two weeks later on December 30, 2020," it said.

The statement explained that the President General of Sabo GRA, Comrade Dr. Silas Adamu was particularly sad that the last incident occurred on same day that he was elected as the President of Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA) Worldwide, which cut short his joy.


"We have lost strong pillars of the community. They were not just board of trustees members, but inspired a lot of progress the community has recorded," the President General was quoted by the statement. 


The President General consoled the family, friends, associates of the deceased and the community over their loss and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

"May their gentle souls and those of others departed continue to rest in peace," the statement prayed.

Unogwu was 65 years old, while Dogara was 55 when they died respectively.

Both have since been buried.
