NPFL: Pillars Secure 11 Points After Victory Over Rivers


Kano Pillars Football Club increased their points on the NIgeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table after recording 1-0 slim victory over visiting  Rivers United.

Kano Pillars scored the only goal of the explosive match in 20th minute of the game, played at their adopted home ground, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

The midweek fixture saw Kano Pillars play one man down early into the second half after their player, Abbas Rabiu was handed red card by centre referee, after earlier booking a yellow.

Coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma in an interview with newsmen after the match, said that it wasn't a bad game.

He said his players lost a lot of chances, but promised to correct lapses witnessed in subsequent games.

Also speaking in a separate interview, Kano Pillars Coach, Emmanuel Social said he is very happy with his players despite playing one man down from the 55th minute.

He said that in their next match against Akwa United away on Saturday, they will be going for a win.
