Mustapha at 66: When you have an SGF as a pillar of a Nation

By Tom Garba, Yola

On a day exactly like today a son was born in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria to the Family of Mustapha, a teacher in the then Gongola State, Northern Province. Mustapha christened the newborn baby boy Boss, a name synonymous with leadership, the capacity to pilot affairs of a nation. Having a pilotage ability to guide and direct with all sense of initiatives, foresight, and administrative skills to serve humanity.

Sixty Six years down the line, Barrister Boss Mustapha was born to serve. His Birthday has recalled my memory of his early days in politics. Then he was much into humanity service as a practicing Lawyer, he gave the best in this regard with much interest in political participation.

At 66 Boss is today a household name, a name far above rubies with a flowering stature. In 1992 was the State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with steady growth in his political acceptance. On several occasions contested as a Governor in both SDP and APC. He was a managing director of Nigerian Inland waterways. A management consultant per excellent.

Boss is indeed an important intellectual rendezvous for the Law profession and public intellectuals in Nigeria. He built a political strong relationship as a party and grassroots Man. As a devout Christian who believes in equity, his life revolts around justice, peace, and development.
At 66 Barrister Boss can hark back with a strong measure of contentment to touch the lives of many people. In his nature of a patient Man, seldom in talking, but with a selective way of approach in any public or political gathering whenever he talks. A humble personality, he can stoop law to anyone looking for his attention. An apt and ardent listener but always coming out with a few words of inspiration. My few meetings with him and at public functions suggested to me Boss is friendly, kind-hearted, and always ready with a listening ear.

He occupies the current office of the Nigerian Secretary of the federal government, this is where I see him as a pillar in upholding the country's live line. In this office, this Man has gone beyond the scribe of the Nation, he found it a place to stabilize the Economy, the battered unity, and corporate existence. He worked as a clock to make sure that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari's regime succeed well in serving Nigeria.

Many see him as a hard-working Man, but my understanding of Boss Mustapha is a blessing to Nigeria, a huge pride, especially to the people of Adamawa state. He is a pool of inspiration to the younger generation and a motivation to anyone looking for a good Nigerian with high intellectual capacity.

I join others in wishing Barrister Boss Mustapha many happy returns of the day. He is one of the few redemptive figures in a community SGFs where sometimes it is difficult to truly know what has happened to political leadership in our land.  Boss stands out, with his integrity as a viable asset he can't toy with, he remains a great man, a pillar hanging on the lights of Hope to Nigerians.

Happy many returns Sir, I wish you well with a successful and glorious ending, with greater achievements and accomplishments. Above all, I wish you a glorious place in Heaven.

Congratulations on your 66th birthday

SWAN CAUTIONS AGAINST ACTIVITIES OF IMPOSTORS

The attention of the National Secretariat of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has been drawn to a communique issued by a group masquerading as the FCT chapter of the Association.

Our fast check with the Chairman of SWAN in Abuja, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka revealed that the chapter did not hold any congress adding that they usually publicize their congresses to the knowledge of all members of the Association.

It was further gathered that the rogue communiqué was written by attention seekers who are only bent on hoodwinking unsuspecting sports administrators and members of the public for their selfish interests.

In the communiqué the impostors exposed their avarice and outright ignorance of the Statute of SWAN by delving into areas that only the National Secretariat has the mandate to act upon.

Article 16 (l) of the SWAN Statute as amended states that; No state chapter shall have powers to relate with federal agencies/establishments or administrators on any issue concerning the Association, in or outside its domain without approval from the National Secretariat.

So it is rather laughable that the amorphous group in their fantasy ended up addressing only issues that concerns the Federal Ministry Youth and Sports and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Probably they were so imbued with their building a castle in the air that they never cared to ask questions. If not, they ought to have known that the National Secretariat had long addressed the issues of the unnecessary derailment of the D’Tigress Basketball team who have been disqualified from the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup as well as discussing with the NFF concerning returning SWAN as a member of the board of the federation.

Similarly, concerning the forthcoming elections into the board of the NFF, the National Secretariat of SWAN in conjunction with the Association for Better Organized Nigerian League and Professionally Managed Teams is organizing a Zoom Debate for the Presidential Candidates. In due time, the date and modalities for the debate would be made public. See Article 16 (m).

We therefore urge members of the general public and especially the Ministry of Sports and the NFF to refrain from identifying with these characters because they do not have the mandate of the National Secretariat of SWAN to dwell in such matters.

Partners of the Rhapsody of Realities have also voiced their expectations towards this global event.

Grace Ubinda, Partner based in Nairobi Kenya said, "I expect to hear and receive increased empowerment to reach the world and fulfill the 7 billion mandate.”   Emmanuel Mendo said  he  expected to ‘be enlightened by Pastor on what more I can do to reach the 7 billion mandate."

Children are not left out. Many of them who want to participate in the ReachOut World Live with Pastor Chris are adopting neighbourhoods and distributing Rhapsody of Realities for Kids to hundreds and hundreds of other children.

Kanmilechukwu Brian, 9, from CE South East Zone 2, in preparation for the programme, adopted his neighbourhood and distributed over 300 copies of the Messenger Angel, Rhapsody of Realities.

From Ghana, to Togo, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Tanzania, and other parts of Africa, to other nations in the Latin Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia  and other parts of the world, children have adopted streets and are imparting other children with the Messenger Angel.

In a statement by the organising committee, some of the kids who expressed their joy about the event wrapped their expectations around  "more grace", "a new me", "salvation to nations", "higher level of blessings" "increased knowledge of God", "increase in levels of preparation for the coming of Our Lord Jesus", and "opportunities to bless the whole world" as anticipated gains from such a meeting with Our Man of God, Pastor Chris.

Others are calling it "a time for change", "a time for doing bigger things", and a time when "many will receive salvation" as we are set to achieve the discipleship of 7 billion people.

“We received amazing impact reports of how and what the Pastors and Partners of Rhapsody of Realities did immediately after the first ReachOut World event with the Man of God, Pastor Chris,” said Emmanuel Mendo, a partner .

Pastor Joshua Lampke, Team Leader, TNI Malawi testified that they “were launched into another realm of operation" after that first ReachOut World with Pastor.

"We went into every village, and into every prison, got authorization to start fellowships in prisons, and right now the fellowships have richly impacted the inmates with Rhapsody of Realities to the extent that innocent inmates received freedom" through the timely intervention of humanitarian organisations, which the Lord instigated,” he said.

“Just as our Man of God said, how much can we tell of the tremendous experiences and amazing testimonies of the impact of the exceptional Rhapsody of Realities in the lives of so many, all around the world?”

According to him, Rhapsody of Realities is truly God's tool and strategic weapon for world evangelism, with the book translated into 7, 000 languages, making it the Most Translated Book in the World.

“ReachOut World Live with Pastor Chris promises to be the biggest and largest global celebration of the Word of God in the Rhapsody of Realities,” he said.

SOKAPU Blast Myetti Allah Kautal Hore Over Plans To Set Up Rival Vigilante Outfit

• Says Myetti Allah's Action Could Lead To Civil War
The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union ( SOKAPU ) has warned Myetti Allah kautal Hore  against contemplating forming a parallel security outfit in state adding that the only constitutionally empowered entity to do so are the state governors .

It could be recalled that the Secretary General of the Fulani sociocultural organisation, Saleh Hassan said that the group would set up a rival security outfit in response to the creation of Benue Security outfit which was set up by the Benue State Government .

In a press released signed by SOKAPU spokeman, Luka Binnyat, the group  noted that

The Fulani, even as a large ethnic group, do not have an exclusive state  in almost all the states of Nigeria, and are certainly not natives of Benue State or anywhere in the Middle Belt.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is not a government and therefore cannot make laws that rivals that of a government that hosts its members.

Mr.Binnyat further noted that

"It is therefore absurd as it is preposterous for Hassan to assume that his group can stay on Benue lands and indeed in other states and form parallel security outfits with that of their host's governments. Such arrogance is rare to come by.

The  SOKAPU spokesman averred that
" Governor Samuel Ortom is the elected Executive Governor of Benue State. By the constitution of Nigeria, he is the Chief Security Officer of Benue State. He is saddled with the most important reason why a government exists: Protection of lives and property of all residents.

SOKAPU believes that all the laws enacted by Benue State House of Assembly and assented by the governor, protects all residents of Benue State, irrespective of tribe, religion or vocation. We also believe that Benue state laws do not discriminate tribes or religion. Only breakers of the law have reasons to fear.

Similarly, the group's Publicity Secretary warned the Federal Government that any attempt by Myetti Allah Kautal Hore to form a vigilante outfit would lead to chaos and eventually civil war .

"Any attempt therefore, to allow the Fulani to form, arm, kit and operate an armed wing so brazenly, is to also approve other ethnic groups to do same. In other words, SOKAPU is saying that a civil war may spark off if Fulani and other ethnic groups obtain arms for the exclusive reason of protecting themselves as groups under various independent commands.
President Muhammadu Buhari must not take this lightly, even though he is fond of glossing over serious matters of security concerns.
