A Policy Analyst in the Nigeria capital city, Abuja, Dr. Mike Idoko, has blamed the incessant attacks by terriorists in the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) on the insensitivity of Federal Goverment.
Dr. Idoko made this known in a review made available to Journalists in Kaduna on Friday, where he said the Federal Government lacks proactive approach to tackle the security challenges confronting the country, especially the vulnerable Nigerians.
The Administrator, who is also a resident of the area council in Abuja, lamented the incessant attacks on Abuja residents and strategic government facilities, adding that Nigerians must cry out before Abuja is overrun by men of the underworld.
He said: "The security situation in the Nation's capital city continued to deteriorate, while government pretend nothing is happening. As a resident in the capital city, I x-rayed the invasion of the Nation's capital city gradually but aggressively from the periphery and if no measure is taken sharply, the insurgents may extend their attack to the city centre." He said.
The seasoned University professional Administrator, also recalled the bombing of the Nyaya urban mass motor park in May 2014, the bombing of St. Theresa catholic church, Madalla, a suburb town bordering Abuja and Niger state on 25th December 2012, said the experience at that time alone is enough to put up strategic measures that could curtail further attacks, but reverse was the case.
In the review, He stated that "it appeared the insurgents are gaining more confidence as it was reported that they ambushed and killed military men at a location in Bwari Area council and at the foot of Zuma rock in madalla on separate attack in July 2022.
He further recalled the attacked of the sheda Village of Kwali Area Council and kidnapped of couple, leading to closure of the only Unity school, FGC Kwali, within the vicinity in July 2022, adding that the effect was the panic generated and the harp hazard conduct of terminal examinations and force shutting down of other public and private secondary and primary Schools in the capital city.
In thesame vein, Dr. Idoko lamented over the sporadic shooting heard around the Dantata bridge in the heart of the city and around the Zuma rock at Kaduna road on 25th and 28th July 2022 respectively, reiterated that the Government of the day is highly insensitive to the danger signals from the men of the underworld in the nation's capital and Nigeria must cry out before Abuja is overrun as had being the case in major towns in the North-east, North-west and Ondo state of the south-west.
He also called on the government to expedite action in resolving the lingering industrial crisis between the University unions (ASUU, SSANU, NASU and NAAT) to enable the teaming youths go back to their studies centre to avert being recruited into gangs and groups that may pose more danger to the nation.
