WITED Kadpoly Chapter Marks International Women's Day

As the world mark the international Women's day, Women in Technical Education and Employment (WITED) Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter has reached out to the female students of HMS school and Queen Amina College in Kaduna by organizing a Lecture titled Self hygiene  on Tuesday.

Guests Speaker, Dr Hussaini Abdulwahab from Shehu Muhammad Kangiwa Hospital of Kaduna Polytechnic, while delivering his paper, described self hygiene as a daily activity which is suppose to be thought at the grassroots level because of it importance to healthy living, lamented the world is faced with so many diseases because most people lark the knowledge of personal hygiene.

In her Opening remark, WITED Coordinator Dr. Comfort Alabi said the lecture presented is part of the activities of commemorating the International Women's Day which is celebrated on March 8th of  every year.
She said , WITED was set up to enhance the participation of females in science and technology in 1988, urging the parents to allow the girls in choosing their carrier part and allow them follow their passion.
Dr Alabi admonish the female pupils to be courageous in becoming who they want to be and not what the society want them to be, charging them to bring out the you in them.

In her remark Vice-principal of HMS School thanked the  WITED team for the unprecedented  gesture and called on them to introduce WITED students wing in the school.

Similarly, The Vice Principal Academy of Queen Amina College, Rabiu Lawan lamented lack of manpower in the area of Engineering and technical studies, urging the team to always check on the girls to see how far they have gone.

Highlights of the event were presentation of detergents, hands sanitizers and books to the female students. The theame for this year's International Women's Day is Breaking the Bias
